Your first agent

When you click New Agent in the dashboard, you are taken through an AI-guided setup wizard. It takes a few minutes and produces a ready-to-deploy agent. Here is what happens at each step.

Step 1 — Describe your agent

The first screen shows a text area with a single prompt: describe what your agent should do.

Be as direct as you like. You do not need to use any particular format. Examples:

  • "Answer support questions for our project management app. Be friendly and concise."
  • "Qualify inbound leads for our commercial cleaning business. Collect their name, email, premises type, and approximate square footage."
  • "Help customers track orders and initiate returns."

The more context you give, the better the initial configuration. You can always edit everything after.

Step 2 — Discovery questions

After you submit, the AI asks a short series of follow-up questions to fill in the details it needs. Typical questions:

  • What does your business do?
  • What should the agent know about? (products, services, FAQs, policies)
  • What tone should it use? (professional, friendly, concise, warm)
  • Are there topics it should avoid or redirect?

Answer in plain language. There are usually three to five questions total.

Step 3 — The AI builds your agent

Once discovery is complete, the wizard runs automatically. It:

  1. Creates the agent with a name and default appearance settings
  2. Adds any knowledge sources you mentioned (if you provided a URL, it indexes that page)
  3. Creates a personality with a system prompt tailored to your description and discovery answers
  4. Assigns the personality to the agent as a draft

You can see each step as it completes. The whole process typically takes under 30 seconds.

Step 4 — Publish or save as draft

When the build finishes, you are shown the agent and a preview panel where you can send a test message and see how it responds.

From here you can:

  • Publish — the personality goes live and the agent is ready to embed
  • Keep as draft — save the agent and come back to refine it before publishing

After the wizard

The wizard gives you a starting point, not a finished product. After it completes you can:

  • Edit the personality (system prompt, greeting, fallback, model choice) in the Personality tab
  • Add more knowledge sources in the Knowledge tab
  • Register skills so the agent can take actions in your systems
  • Customise the appearance (name, avatar, colours, widget position) in the Appearance tab
  • Write test scenarios and run them before publishing

Everything the wizard created is fully editable.
